Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my WhatsApp is banned or just restricted?
Restricted: you see that the account is restricted and can still chat with old contacts. Banned: you see that the number cannot use WhatsApp and cannot sign in.
How long does it take to get unbanned?
For bans with a review option, WhatsApp says most reviews are completed within 24 hours. Without that option, the ban is permanent.
Can a company unban my WhatsApp?
No. WhatsApp says third-party services cannot lift bans. Anyone charging for it is running a scam.
Does the official API prevent bans?
It is the permitted way to send at scale, but it has its own rules and enforcement. It lowers risk for businesses that use opt-in and good practices. It does not remove enforcement.
